Amsterdam Vacation

Amsterdam is a great introduction to Europe for the first time traveler. If you’ve been there before didn’t manage to go back yet, it’s definitely worth it to do that now. Amsterdam has plenty to appeal to people of all ages and interests. It has a great history like all of the major European capitals, but it also has a fresh, up-to-date atmosphere. Language shouldn’t be a barrier because most of the people in Amsterdam understand English. You can enjoy lots of historical sites there as well as modern pleasures like design, fashion and music.

Since it’s a major travel hub for Western Europe, you can find airline tickets to Amsterdam at relatively inexpensive prices if you look around carefully. Many airlines from the US and Canada fly there, so you have a lot of choices. Keep in mind that flights during the height of the tourist season will be more expensive than flights in the fall and winter. If budget is a big issue for you, flying between October and March will be your best bet.

Hotels in Amsterdam tend to be relatively inexpensive because it’s a city that attracts many young people. There are also lots of youth hostels there with incredibly low prices. In many cases you can stay for under fifty dollars nightly. This is a fun way to travel because you can make new friends there and enjoy a lively social atmosphere. Hostels may not be luxurious, but they’re usually well-located.

You can enjoy a night out in Amsterdam for much less than in other popular European cities because it caters to a young crowd. Amsterdam’s famous coffee shops are inexpensive, but there are also plenty of other things to do in the city. Whether you like architecture, art, music, fashion, dining out, or history, Amsterdam has it all.
