Dating with Personal Ads: Realize Great Expectations to Live by

For one, Nobody can say I’m downright happy as an “independent” (aka: naturally single) person and not crack a smile. Even then, I’m not unhappy with the reality of life, either. I merely mention it on the blogosphere as an intriguing piece of info introducing what I am prepared to unravel!

Last Monday I met for coffee with Corey, considering signing up for Great Expectations Dallas. Now, I type to each of you as a delightfully single member of the matchmaking service. No kidding, and I almost don’t believe it myself! Its very comfortable and full of nice people! If you’ve been paying attention, perhaps you’re thinkin’, “Stop blabbering and tell me about it already.”

So, I noticed this dating site called Great Expectations and liked what I saw. They’re for the serious singles who think dating doesn’t have to be so frivolous and stupid.

Because I’d never enjoyed or even tolerated the ridiculous nightlife ritual most people call “Dating.” I faced it all the time. Day and night readers nagg, “Are you two serious yet?” and “Just get out there and date him!”

“Nonsense,” I say to them, smiling ear to ear. “Have you seen what’s out there?”

“You’re as ridiculous as you are hilarious,” they level with me. “How would you know, you haven’t seen Friday Night Magic in a year!”

Thankfully, that’s my sister (she’s the best) (hehe) Patty Wilson. She beams the best ideas directly to my core 99% of the time. Friends never fail for fresh advice. No countering that, and I joined.

Back to the point of this blog entry. As I browsed from more than three hundred combinations of outfits for my first Great Expectations date, I acknowledged something true. For the longest time, I hadn’t had any figurative great expectations for dating and myself in the serendipitous journey of life. Single life has its perks, especially when you get out there and have fun. Embracing your own great expectations makes a difference for a caring soul.
